WELCOME TO MY PRACTICE! I ACHIEVED MY MEDICAL DEGREE IN HAVANA, CUBA IN 2000. AFTER, MY HUSBAND AND I IMMIGRATED TO CANADA TO BEGIN OUR LIFE HERE TOGETHER. IN 2004, I BECAME LICENSED TO PRACTICE MEDICINE IN RURAL MANITOBA. OVER THE NEXT 12 YEARS I PROVIDED BOTH PRIMARY AND HOSPITAL CARE TO MY PATIENTS AS A FAMILY DOCTOR IN THE TOWN OF MORDEN, MB. DURING THIS TIME, MY HUSBAND AND I HAD OUR TWO DAUGHTERS; COSETTE AND CAMILLE.

MY FAMILY AND I MOVED TO NANAIMO, BC IN LATE 2016. WE ENJOY BEING CLOSE TO THE OCEAN AND SURROUNDED BY THE NATURAL BEAUTY OFFERED BY THE ISLAND.

I AM PASSIONATE ABOUT WOMEN’S HEALTH AND ENJOY THE VARIETY OF PRACTICE THAT BEING A FAMILY DOCTOR CAN OFFER. I ESPECIALLY LOVE SEEING MY PATIENTS THROUGHOUT THEIR JOURNEYS, PROVIDING CARE THROUGH PRIMARY AND PREVENTATIVE MEDICINE, OVERSEEING HOSPITAL CARE IN THE ER, LABOUR AND DELIVERY OR AS INPATIENTS. IT IS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO BUILD SPECIAL BONDS WITH MY PATIENTS, INCLUDING THEIR FAMILIES, IN TIMES OF NEED AND TO PROVIDE SUPPORT IN TIMES OF STRUGGLE OR DESPAIR.

WHILE I KNOW I CANNOT FIX EVERYTHING, I FEEL PRIVILEGED TO BE A PART OF YOUR LIFE JOURNEY THROUGH YOUR HEALTH.

I AM EXCITED TO CREATE MY PRACTICE OF FAMILY MEDICINE FOCUSED ON WOMEN’S HEALTH. I AM EXCITED TO BUILD OFF SOME OF THE SAME IDEAS FROM MY PRACTICE IN MANITOBA AND TO INTEGRATE THEM INTO THE WOMEN'S VITA MEDICAL CLINIC ON VANCOUVER ISLAND.

AS WOMEN, WE HAVE COME A LONG WAY, NOT ONLY SOCIALLY BUT MEDICALLY; THERE IS STILL LOTS TO DO. I WANT TO BE A PART OF THIS AS A PHYSICIAN AND AS A WOMAN. THIS IS MY DREAM JOURNEY, THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ALLOWING ME TO BE A PART OF YOUR LIVES.
